Katie joined Florida Power & Light Company in 2022 and serves as senior manager of economic development. In this role, she works to diversify Florida’s economy by facilitating business attraction and expansion efforts with a focus on supporting the state’s aviation/aerospace and defense sectors. Katie assists businesses in the identification of sites and buildings, electric and infrastructure assessments, incentives and clean energy programs. Katie also works alongside state and local economic development and infrastructure partners to support the long-term growth strategy of Florida’s growing Space Coast and aerospace ecosystem.
Prior to joining FPL, Katie supported economic development efforts in Florida at the state and local levels. She previously served as the state of Florida’s economic development representative for the aviation/aerospace and defense/homeland security sectors at FloridaCommerce, the state’s principal economic development agency. Katie also held roles at FloridaWest Economic Development Alliance and the Mississippi Defense Initiative.
Throughout her career, Katie has collaborated with companies, site selection consultants and economic development partners to help businesses identify strategic growth opportunities and navigate Florida’s competitive business landscape. Her experience spans business recruitment, industry engagement, infrastructure planning and economic development strategy, allowing her to connect organizations with the resources needed to successfully expand or relocate. She is passionate about strengthening Florida’s innovation economy and advancing projects that create high-quality jobs, encourage capital investment and support long-term economic prosperity across the state.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies and a Master of Science Degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi. She resides in West Palm Beach with Milo the Yorkshire terrier.
